Three Places to Find Inspiration for Your Wedding

And we're not just talking about Pinterest.

If you’re looking for inspiration to make your wedding unique and different from your friends' weddings, then you’ve come to the right place! I’m breaking down 3 places to look for ways to make your wedding dreams come to life that don’t involve repinning other weddings.

Instagram

This may seem a bit obvious, especially if you’ve found any of your vendors on Instagram. So let’s go deeper into how you can use IG for inspiration. Following your local vendors is a great way to see the work they can do, but what if you started following venues and vendors on the opposite side of the country? Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about #southernweddings over here, however, I do know it’s nice to mix it up a bit. Start following other tags and vendors such as #arizonaweddings or #montanaelopement. You will start to see trends from other parts of the country that you can incorporate into your wedding. This may give you new ideas for colors, flowers, and decor!

Lifestyle Magazines

While you're at Barnes & Noble picking up your wedding planning binder, head over to the home and lifestyle magazine area for a new take on wedding design. Although Joanna Gaines doesn't write about weddings in the Magnolia Journal, you can get a lot of styling ideas from her. A few others to think about are Pottery Barn, WestElm, Anthropologie, Home & Garden, and Garden & Gun. Pick ones that you would naturally read and start using them as your wedding inspiration.

TV Shows / Movies

Speaking of Joanna Gaines, you can get wedding inspiration from her show Fixer Upper. If you want a rustic outdoor wedding or reception, check out her blog recaps. One of my current favorite wedding inspirations comes from a scene in When Calls the Heart on Netflix. Sorry, this is a spoiler from the show, but I just can't get over these millions of outdoor, ground-lit candles.

Pinterest isn’t a bad place to find and save your inspiration, we use it too. We just want you to think outside the boards when planning your special day!
