Spring Wedding at Heyward Manor | Grace + Will Moore | Iva, SC
Grace and Will’s wedding took place at Heyward Manor in spring of 2021. The venue is absolutely stunning on it’s own but we loved designing this space specifically for Grace with our full service planning package, but more on that later. Let’s meet the couple first!
Grace and Will’s Love Story
Grace and Will met at Emmanuel in fall of 2015 and they started dating in 2017. Several members of their bridal party were friends from college and it was so fun to watch all of them celebrate Grace and Will. Will knew pretty quickly that Grace was the one for him and through his intentionality and kindness, Grace soon fell in love with Will. Their love of family is one thing that drew them together and when it came time to propose, Will chose a spot on his family land near where they’d soon call home. Every day they get to see the spot they said yes to forever and we think that’s just the sweetest thing!!
Planning Grace and Will’s Wedding
We loved working with Grace and her family for her spring wedding at Heyward Manor. Grace and Allie have known each other for a very long time from school and family connections. Their dads were business partners and instilled a love of coffee in both Grace and Allie that we knew we had to have a coffee bar at her wedding! When Grace got engaged and asked Allie to be the planner, we got to work creating her dream wedding. Sage and white were our main colors palette with hints of blush and gold. We worked with Aimee Cromer to create the most luxurious florals and oversized bridal bouquet. Her work is so stunning! Grace knew she wanted an elegant wedding that wasn’t too formal. We had a 6pm outdoor ceremony in Heyward Manor’s “Meadow” with an hour of appetizers and a coffee bar on the patio. Grace and Will chose to serve Chick-fil-A for both the transition hour and dinner. We LOVED this idea and were so excited to see it come to life! In order to maintain an elegant vibe while serving CFA, we had full place settings at each table - charger, silverware, pink goblet filled with water, linen napkin. This is a very easy way to elevate your reception regardless of your food and serving choices. Adding in lots of candles, greenery, and pink cheesecloths to Heyward Manor’s stunning farm tables completed our design.
Special Touches to the Day
She had a first look with her dad, granddad, and Will and they will all bring tears to your eyes! This was also Grace’s favorite part of the day.
“The most memorable part of my wedding day was putting on my wedding dress and seeing Will for the first time at our first look. That was the moment I finally felt like a bride! It was an amazing and surreal feeling to watch everything come together.”
In addition to the coffee bar, we had 2 fire pits and a donut wall! Adding in these extra pieces that you and your fiance love are some of our favorite parts to a wedding day. It truly takes it from a wedding to your wedding and we love to see it! We also had Cyra Bardo live painting the ceremony and this is one of our favorite trends that’s becoming less of a trend and more of a staple. If you can have one at your wedding (or send them a photo after to paint), we highly recommend it!
Finding Grace’s Wedding Dress
Grace wore our Emily wedding dress from our private collection. Staar Tailors added off-the-shoulder sleeves to create a custom look for Grace. Here’s what she had to say about her dress shopping experience at Katharine Marie Weddings.
My wedding dress shopping experience was amazing. Allie made the day so special. She let me try on so many gowns but helped me narrow down exactly what I was looking for! It was such a fun and memorable environment for me, my mom, and sister!**I felt absolutely beautiful in the Emily dress! It made me feel so confident and comfortable!
**This is the exact experience we strive to have for every bride who walks through our doors as this is what Allie had with her mom and sister while shopping for her sister’s dress over 10 years ago.
Chick-fil-A Wedding Menu
We thought we’d share our exact menu for this wedding from Chick-fil-a, so you can recreate it if you’d like! A few things to note - you will need someone to prep and serve it as not all Chick-fil-a’s do a buffet style catering. We had to hire a separate catering staff and bring our own team for waitstaffing, but it was worth it! Also, think about how far away you are from a Chick-fil-a. Some items like fries won’t travel well and you’ll want to consider about 4 nuggets a person for cocktail hour. We had servers pass these items to stay inline with our 6pm elegant style.
