Meet the Couple: Mhari and Chris
This Athens, Georgia couple is super special to me because the groom is my "little" cousin. I was 6 when he was born and I am pretty sure I thought he was my real-life baby doll. Big thanks to his mom, Aunt Carey, who let a 6 year old tote him around! Oh and to Chris who put up with being toted around, haha!
Okay so now on to how he met his lovely bride and how he proposed!
Chris and Mhari met while working at Chick-fil-a. There, their friendship grew to love and one day in the parking lot they said "I love you".
What was your first date?
We went to a Braves Game at the TED with a bunch of our friends. We got 2 homers in one inning and Chris gave me a high five and didn’t let go. A few days later, I called and asked if he wanted to get Mexican food, at LaPa and the rest is history. I had never met my match in putting away some Mexican food.
When did you each know the other was the "one"?
I knew when I was going to go visit my Grandparents Gravesides, he asked to tag along, My Grandmother told me the one is who will ask to join in when they don’t know what they are getting themselves in for.
What is your favorite thing to do with each other?
We love being outdoors, whether hiking or going to the lake or beach. Thankfully we can do all these things with our dog, Obi. We just overall love nature and just how beautiful it truly can be.
Favorite thing about each other?
Chris - Her Laugh.
Mhari - How not funny Chris is, he is actually pretty funny but I can't tell him that all the time!
How he proposed
Chris - I was thinking hard to think of a way to get Mhari dressed up and not cause suspicion that I might be proposing. Well a plan happened to fall into my lap when my best friend Emory asked me to come to Bostwick to take some nice pictures of him and his girlfriend, Brianna. I mentioned that I wanted to propose and Emory and his cousins help me find a good spot.
The next day I sent Mhari to get her nails done and told her I would meet her to drive to Bostwick. When we arrived, we met up with Emory and Brianna and all hopped into my truck to drive around to several nice places to take pictures. Eventually we get to the spot where I was going to propose. When we got there we called Emory’s dad and he came with his professional camera and was there to get the proposal in real time!
