Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Nestertsov || Twigs Tempietto - Greenville, SC Wedding
On December 8, 2019 Alex and Evans became husband and wife at Twigs Tempietto in Greenville, SC. Y'all this venue is like a magical fairy garden in the middle of Greenville. When I first met Evans and she told me where she was getting married, I instantly researched the venue and fell in love!! Then she pointed to a dress in the shop and said, I want to wear that one at Twigs, and she did!! But more on that later!
Alex and Evans were friends in high school, but lost touch after graduation. A little over a year ago, Alex slid into Evans' DMs and they met up for coffee and iceskating in Greenville. That day they both realized they wanted to be together forever and pretty much became inseparable. You can read about their proposal story here.
Speaking of DMs, thanks to Instagram and a mutual friend (shoutout Leeann!) Evans found out about Katharine Marie Weddings via Instagram too! Getting to be part of the whole wedding planning process including the wedding dress was a dream come true. I have a few brides who have chosen Katharine Marie Weddings for both and it allows us to have more time together and can really ensure the whole day is perfect!

So let's talk about the dress first. When she came for her first planning meeting, she saw the Haven gown and immediately knew it was the dress she wanted to wear. It is a strapless, modified sweetheart gown with embroidered florals on the bodice that trail down the skirt. This dress was absolutely perfect for her garden wedding. I loved that she brought her grandmother's fur for her wedding day as it added the perfect finishing touch! We toasted with some Welches Sparkling Rose at her bridal appointment and she ended up serving that as her toast at the wedding as well!
The Wedding Venue
Twigs Tempietto is located in Greenville, SC. They are a home and garden shop in the front with the wedding patio in the back. Even though it may seem like it is on a busy street, it is a hidden oasis in Greenville, and is purely magical! There is a bridal suite hidden in the back for you and your girls to get ready in and stay hidden from the guests. Beside the bridal suite is a side garden where Alex saw Evans for the first time. How many times am I allowed to use the term magical to describe this day? Because honestly, it's the most perfect word. The lighting, the location, the bride, the groom, the families, the vendors. Every single part was perfect.
The Wedding Day
The ceremony took place in the back garden and a family friend was able to perform the vows. Evans and Alex chose to have a first look in the back garden before any guests arrived. They were able to get some beautiful photos and have lots of sunlight for their wedding party photos. She wanted to highlight the fact that it was December and Christmastime without being overly Christmasy. Her florals and bridesmaids dresses set the tone for the color of the season and Twigs placed a single gold Christmas tree as the back drop for the ceremony. One of Evans' bridesmaids sang a solo during communion which added a sweet memory to this special day. After the ceremony, the guests move to the front patio for cocktail hour. Kate and her team at Twigs Tempietto also handled the food, florals, and the room flip. They were amazing! For dinner, we had two buffets - one in the main garden and one on the front patio. For the special dances and toasts, the guests gathered under the tent in the garden with glasses of Welch's sparkling rosé.
The Vendors
As mentioned above, Kate and her team at Twigs were amazing and such a pleasure to work with. When Evans told me she chose Jessi Nichols Photography and Hallie of Recollective Films, I was very excited because I had been following Jessi for a while and met Hallie last spring. As you can see by these photos and the video, Jessi and Hallie are a dream team! For the ceremony and reception, Bella Nova Electric Strings took well known songs and uniquely made them their own. It was so fun to listen as guests tried to guess the song first "oh is this by Taylor Swift?" "ah! That's Ed Sheeran". If you're looking for a something different than a band or a DJ, you need to check out the Bella Nova Electric Strings!! Aly of Anomaly's Custom Sweets made the cake and the cookies (I am here for the cookies!). Cookies can double as wedding favors too! Evans and her mom also made honey bears for each of the guests to take with them. Shutterbooth SC was also on hand to help guests celebrate Evans & Alex's big day!
