2020 A Year in Review
January
While 2020 was kicking off, KMW was starting our 12th month of officially open! What a year! We moved in July of 2019 to our 2nd location and loved being downtown for a while. We welcomed two new planning couples and two Legacy Brides to the family in January. Wedding Festivals took place later in the month, and we got to meet so many of you in person. Our first intern, Loren, joined the team for the semester and helped out at the Wedding Festival and helped plan our Galentine's Day event! Our Walker gown was also used in a styled shoot at the Randall House in Greer!!
February
In February, we were getting ready for our first birthday! We held a weeklong daily giveaway with some of our favorite vendors in Anderson and it was so fun! Galentines day was February 13th and we hosted our first annual Galentines Party complete with a DJ and Photo Booth, and fun games. The Marshall Orr House hosted an Open House and it SNOWED! It was magical and I got this shot of the Dalton gown, which was a our most liked photo of 2020. Since it was Leap Year, we hosted a 1 day sale to celebrate the fun day. Lots of fun things happened last February!!Elizabeth, Madison, Courtney, and Nicci all became Legacy Brides in February and MC + Robert said "I Do" at the Southern Bleachery.
March
In February, the editors of Town Bride asked if we'd like to be on the COVER so of course we said yes!! We chose the Charlotte gown and shot the cover in March. Sarah also joined the Legacy Bride family!! We also did quite a few shoots at Rocky River Plantation with Adina of Frilly Bloomers.
April
After everything that happened in March, we went to virtual appointments for the month of April! It was fun to still be able to give brides a chance to find their dream dress! We also prepared to move to our next location in May. We were supposed to be in Chattanooga in April for Shaylen and Nate's wedding, but since they lived in Seattle, they just eloped there and will be celebrating in November 2021 in Chattanooga. They had a lot of hoops to jump through to still get married on their chosen date and I am so glad it all worked out for them!
May
May was a fun and full month!! KMW moved to our current location in May while our building is still be renovated. This new space isn't in downtown, but it's the perfect space for KMW! We were able to open back up to in person appointments, welcomed Jackie and Mary as Legacy Brides and got to celebrate Carole Cochran + Christopher, and Leigh + Hunter saying I do! Our of our 2019 Legacy Brides, Sarah married her husband Matthew in May too! She wore our Emily gown from our DANAE Collection. We ended the month by partnering with all the downtown boutiques for a virtual fashion show at La Bella! It was a BLAST!!! Sara Touchet took photos for us. We had a small problem with FB shutting off our sound for a bit, but it was still so much fun.
June
Finally getting settled into our new space, we welcomed Taylor, Sarah, and Kylie to the Legacy Bride Family! Jacqueline, Laura, and Rachel planned a beautiful styled shoot at Aurora Farms. Full blog post coming soon!! We had so much fun with the couple and even got to have Clare's Creamery ice-cream!
July
July was a little bit slower, but it gave me time to catch my breath before August hit! Martha and Kristin said yes to being Legacy Brides!
August
Kacy hired KMW to plan her wedding in February, and while her original date was in the spring, we were so excited for their wedding in August!! Their blog is coming soon, but it was the perfect day for an August wedding. August was also the best month in business KMW ever had which is probably not something I'll share a lot about but it was a wonderful milestone for me personally! We welcomed 4 new Legacy Brides in August and participated in 2 a styled shoots. The first was at Heyward Manor with our Merriweather gown (boat photo) and Mckee Events, and the second was with Benson Street Collective and our Vienna Rose Gown! It was such a fun fun month!!
September
September was another great month! Jenna became a Legacy Bride, Whitney and Forest said I do (she chose our Fante Gown) and we shot the fall cover of Town Bride! It was also time to go back to Market to pick out new styles for the boutique! We also did a small photo shoot at the Anderson Arts Center with Sara Touchet, Something Borrowed Tablescapes, and La Bella.
October
Olivia said yes to becoming a Legacy Bride in October and our bride Sarah said I do in our Julie gown! Our Allie gown was featured on the cover of the fall Town Bride issue!
November
We kicked off November with the dreamiest styled shoot with Mary Katherine Photography at the Venue at Falls park. Y'all this made all my candle dreams come true! We shot one of my new favorite gowns - Serena! Brent and Elissa celebrated their first anniversary! Lindsay became a Legacy Bride, Kristen + Kiefer said I do in an intimate rooftop ceremony at Lilia Day Spa and Elizabeth (wearing our custom Sumter gown) + Ethan tied the Knot in Spartanburg at 1800 Drayton! (full blogs coming soon).
December
Wow wow wow! What a year! We wrapped up 2020 with our Date Nights challenge, and a huge end of year / New Year sale! We welcomed Mikayla and 3 other brides to the Legacy family (they didn't want to be mentioned on social media / online). I didn't take much time off at New Year's and have already welcomed SIX new Legacy Brides in 2021. Getting to do what I love while knowing you feel beautiful and special makes my heart so so happy and I feel like I need to pinch myself every day. Thank you for following along and supporting this dream and business.
